Project is done

It’s always nice to complete a project, especially one that is needed right away to help us out.

I had a little bit of a hard time with the nailing piece because of my hand joint issues, but thankfully it is a small roof.

Sasha decided to help me too, which is always fun 😉

Now I need to switch gears and finish splitting and sticking wood for the next year’s usage.

Shed lean-to project

Working on one of two “must do” projects before I either take a long break this summer or head off to work.

We really need to have more space based on getting snow tires, having 4 bikes, and other extra outdoor / garden stuff left over as a result of combining two households. I hope to have this one done in a few days.

Birdhouse repaired and mounted

Had to repair a section of the cabin birdhouse built by Wayne Dad for Shelley.
A squirrel romantic rendezvous resulted in tons of moss and other warm insulation in the main compartment. (baby squirrels are fine, daddy squirrel lost a fight with a neighborhood cat sadly).
I had to disassemble a section to properly clean out the nest. It’s now mounted and looks none the worser for the activity last year.

Side note: I saw “junior” checking out the location where the birdhouse is mounted over the weekend so maybe he will move in?

Main winter projects done, ready to hibernate

It’s all came together this weekend. I got some decent weather and could wrap up things I wanted to complete before the arrival of Sasha. Who knows how she will impact our lives.

I can’t take credit for the sign that Wayne Dad made but I really like how it looks mounted over the dog run closer to the center rather than centered under the roof (which is offset).

The steps turned out better than I expected and I envision a small sign or crafty decorative side updates to make the steps less bland.

I’m going to take a small break then generate a list of smaller winter shop projects and the bigger ones I will do this spring and summer.

Can’t wait to break in a new Shop Dog!

Finished the man gate

This is the weekend to finish up projects in prep for Sasha’s arrival. Hard to believe we bring her home next Saturday.

I’ve got to put the carpet on her bed stairs, and mount her sign for her dog run that Wayne Dad made. Probably will mount the sign today, then tackle the carpet tomorrow as my sole project.

Shelley is doing inside stuff. She’s already assembled a dog crate that looks like furniture so it will blend in at the La Pine house (where space is a premium). Little touches like Sasha’s bedding, and her Christmas stocking are being worked on too.
